Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;
blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
About the Hail Mary
The Hail Mary, or Ave Maria, joins the greeting of the Angel Gabriel and of Elizabeth to Mary (Luke 1:28, 42) with the Church’s request for her prayers. It is prayed ten times in each decade of the Rosary and is one of the first prayers Catholic children learn.
